The 2027 Monaco Grand Prix will take place from 4 to 6 June 2027 and will be a first in the Principality's history: for the first time, the Port Hercule circuit will host a sprint race. The Formula 1 calendar was unveiled on 16 September 2026, with Monaco listed as round eight of a 24-race season.
This guide brings together what is known today: the dates, the weekend format, where Monaco sits in the calendar, tickets, and how to plan a stay on the circuit. We separate what is confirmed from what is not yet, since the detailed timetable is still to be published by the organiser.
Monaco Grand Prix 2027: the dates to remember

A first: a sprint race at the 2027 Monaco Grand Prix
This is the big novelty of the 2027 calendar. For the first time in its history, the Monaco Grand Prix will be run as a sprint weekend, one of ten such weekends planned next season, compared with six at present.
In practice, a sprint weekend adds a qualifying session and a short race on Saturday. Formula 1 hopes to give spectators more at stake, even though qualifying has always been the key moment in Monaco, where overtaking remains notoriously hard on these narrow streets. Many are curious to see what the format changes on such a singular track.
What is a sprint race in Formula 1?
The sprint is a much shorter race than the Grand Prix, held on Saturday with its own qualifying session. The best-placed drivers score points, which are added to those from Sunday's race. The Grand Prix remains the main event of the weekend.
What will the weekend schedule look like?
The official timetable has not been published yet. On a standard sprint weekend, the sequence is:
- Friday: free practice and sprint qualifying.
- Saturday: sprint race, then Grand Prix qualifying.
- Sunday: Grand Prix.
This running order could be adapted for Monaco, so check the programme with the organiser before booking tickets and travel.
Which day should you attend?
With this format, Friday and Saturday offer more track action than usual. If you can only come for one day, Saturday combines a race and a qualifying session, while Sunday remains Grand Prix day. To enjoy the whole weekend, plan to arrive on Thursday evening.
Where does Monaco sit in the 2027 F1 calendar?
Monaco is the eighth round of the season, between Canada (Montreal, 21 to 23 May) and Portugal (Portimão, 18 to 20 June). Montreal and Monaco therefore form two consecutive sprint weekends.
The ten sprint weekends of 2027 are Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Canada, Monaco, Great Britain, Italy, Brazil, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Monaco is the only one run through the streets of a city-state of two square kilometres, which makes the spectator experience very different from that of a permanent circuit.
Monaco Grand Prix 2027 tickets: when and how to book
No on-sale date for 2027 tickets is confirmed at the time of writing. For reference, sales for the 2026 edition began on 22 September 2025, more than eight months before the race. Tickets are sold online on the official Monaco Grand Prix website.
Use only the official ticket office or clearly identified partners, and be wary of improvised resellers. Hospitality packages are also offered by the organiser. To understand the weekend atmosphere, circuit access and grandstand choices, our 2026 Monaco Grand Prix guide remains a good starting point: the overall rhythm changes little from year to year, even if the sprint will reshape the 2027 schedule.
💡 The concierge tip
Rooms overlooking the circuit go first. As soon as the dates are confirmed and tickets go on sale, secure your stay before buying grandstand seats: doing it the other way round is far riskier.
Where to stay for the 2027 Monaco Grand Prix
The best place to live a Grand Prix is the circuit itself. Port Palace, a 4-star hotel with 50 rooms and suites, sits on Port Hercule at the heart of the track, and its rooms open onto the harbour. Discover our rooms and suites overlooking the port to compare categories.
Monaco station is about a five-minute walk from the hotel, which simplifies arrivals by train from Nice or Italy on a weekend when traffic is restricted. After the sessions, the La Môme rooftop restaurant offers a table with a view of the harbour. To get to know the district that lives to the rhythm of the race, also read our guide to Port Hercule.
