The 10th Monaco E-Prix takes over the legendary Port Hercule circuit on 16 and 17 May 2026. Full schedule, ticket prices, grandstands and tips to make the most of Formula E in Monaco.

The silent roar of electric single-seaters on the Monaco circuit: that is what awaits spectators at the Monaco E-Prix 2026. On 16 and 17 May, the Principality hosts the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship for the 10th time, on the legendary Port Hercule track. An intense sporting event, more accessible than F1, and the perfect way to discover Monaco from a thoroughly modern perspective.

What is the Monaco E-Prix?

The Monaco E-Prix is one of the rounds of the Formula E World Championship, the leading discipline in 100% electric motorsport. Since its creation in 2014, Formula E has brought together the most prestigious manufacturers (Porsche, Jaguar, Maserati, DS, Nissan) with a single goal: pushing the boundaries of electric mobility on the track.

Monaco is one of the most iconic circuits on the calendar. Since 2021, the electric single-seaters have raced on the full Grand Prix layout, including the climb towards the Casino, the Fairmont Hairpin and the famous tunnel section. The circuit measures 3.337 km per lap, the exact same layout used by Formula 1.

What sets Formula E apart from F1? Far more frequent overtaking, a compact two-day format, and significantly more affordable spectator access. A perfect event for motorsport enthusiasts and curious newcomers alike who want to experience the unique atmosphere of racing in Monaco.

The Monaco circuit in Formula E: what is different from F1

Since 2021, the Monaco E-Prix has used the full Monaco circuit layout, identical to Formula 1. Yet the grandstand experience is very different.

Formula E cars are slower than F1 machines (approximately 22 seconds less per lap), but this pure speed deficit translates into a far more lively on-track spectacle. Overtaking is frequent: during recent editions, there was an overtake every 18 seconds on average, compared to one every 5 minutes in F1 at Monaco.

Another much-appreciated feature: the noise level. Electric single-seaters produce a sharp, distinctive whine, far less deafening than the F1 turbo V6 engines. Conversations between spectators remain possible, and the grandstand atmosphere is more convivial.

The compact two-day format, with two full races, delivers more action than a typical Formula 1 weekend. For dedicated fans and newcomers alike, the entertainment value is outstanding.

Where to watch the Monaco E-Prix: the best spots

The Monaco circuit runs through the heart of the Principality, and several vantage points allow you to fully enjoy the spectacle.

From the official grandstands

Grandstands are positioned along the circuit, with prime locations around Port Hercule, on the Casino climb and at the Sainte-Devote corner. Each grandstand offers a different perspective on the race.

From Port Hercule

The Port Hercule sector is the nerve centre of the circuit. This is where the start/finish line, the pit lane and most of the infrastructure are located. For spectators staying at Port Palace, the advantage is considerable: the hotel sits directly on the circuit, facing the harbour. From the upper floors, the view overlooks the pit straight and the ballet of single-seaters.

From the Rock

The gardens on the Rock offer a free panoramic view over Port Hercule and part of the circuit. A popular spot for photographers and families.

Concierge tip

"After Saturday's race, take the evening to dine in the Condamine district. The restaurants around the covered market offer a relaxed atmosphere, just steps from the circuit. When staying at Port Palace, your concierge can reserve the best tables for you."

Staying at the heart of the circuit: the Port Palace experience

Port Palace, a 4-star boutique hotel and member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, holds a unique position for the Monaco E-Prix. Located directly on Port Hercule, facing the circuit, the hotel allows you to experience the event without even leaving the premises.

The Corner Suites offer a panoramic view over the track and become private viewing lounges on race days. To extend the experience, La Mome restaurant, on the 6th floor, provides a rooftop setting with a sweeping view over the harbour and the single-seaters in action.

Hotel guests benefit from a dedicated concierge service to organise every detail of their stay around the E-Prix: grandstand ticket bookings, transfers from Nice airport, restaurant recommendations and access to side events.
